Festival of Carols is a series of performances by Chamber Singers, Treble Choir (the Troubadours), and Chamber Orchestra from Batavia High School that will surely get you into the spirit of Christmas!
The 15th century performance includes traditional madrigals and motets, early instrumental music and seasonal carols that will begin in the decked halls of the historic Congregational Church of Batavia sanctuary. Jesters serve as the masters of ceremonies for all madrigal performances and provide comedic interludes between songs. Part way through the evening performances (this part excluded from the Saturday matinee), will be a procession to the King’s Dining Hall where a fine array of cheeses, sausage & petite desserts along with entertainment fit for a king, will ensue. We will journey back to the sanctuary for the finale and carols sung by candlelight. Following the conclusion of the performance, guests will be invited to mingle with performers back in the King’s Dining Hall.
