Festival of Carols is a series of performances by Chamber Singers, Treble Choir (the Troubadours), and Chamber Orchestra from Batavia High School that will surely get you into the spirit of Christmas!
The 15th century performance includes traditional madrigals and motets, early instrumental music and seasonal carols that will begin in the decked halls of the Congregational Church of Batavia. Jesters serve as the masters of ceremonies for all madrigal performances and provide comedic interludes between songs. To add to the merriment, light savory and sweet fare will be served along with the traditional drink of wassail. Following the conclusion of the performance, guests will be invited to mingle with performers.
The Saturday 3:30 PM afternoon matinee will include a shortened program where intermission and food will not be included.
